Anyone have any idea what this is? It's definitely a clip [not a charger] the clip is marked [faintly] with a Nazi [;) smellie] bird as is each round, see pics.

I don't know what it is for, so obviously, if anyone has the gun I can shoot them out of, lemme know! [HA!!]

I've been told that 8x56R in a Steyr M95 kicks like the proverbial mule, and that the Mannlicher clips are hard to find these days.

I still want one, though!!!:D

I have Steyr M95 and yeah....She kicks like a mule.....the clips can be found every once in a while ....I lucked into 15 of them so the clips aren't all that hard to find. And YES you need an M95

Yep, you definitely need an M95. Seems to be a good supply of them at Trade Ex and PS Militaria for not a lot of coin.

And don't shoot the collectable ammo!

I got two of them, and I had to put a limbsaver on the stock because my purse was too heavy and my shoulder was black and blue after 15 rounds.:)) They are fun to shoot.:) Fan fact of the day: I shot over 100 rounds of nazi ammo and not a single missfire yet. That is pretty impressive for 75 years old ammo.

I love my Budapest and Steyr. I tried 5 rounds of surplus in both of them (a Stutzen and Rifle respectively) and the Stutzen kicked like a mule. I hand load for both of them now. The M95 is a very impressive design with a minimum of parts and is quite simple to clean and take care of. Not bad for 20 years of R+D :).

100 rounds of Nazi ammo? I thought that stuff was more for collecting than shooting! In my short time collecting I have only managed to find one round of 8x56r Nazi marked 1938, maybe I'm looking in all the wrong places.

A lot of Nazi marked ammo was imported maybe 15 or 20 years ago.
And like all milsurp stuff, it eventually dried up.
So, if you bought a lot cheap, you are set.
Otherwise, it is now fairly hard to find.
The good news is that both Hornady and Prvi make new reloadable SP ammo.
CanadaAmmo has the Prvi

And yes, the carbine does kick like hell!

Same CLIPS work in the 1888 and 1888/90 Mannlicher straight-pull rifles as well.

Same Clip also works fine in original unaltered 8x50R rifles.

These Clips and Ammunition were manufactured in Austria shortly following the 1938 Anschluss which united Austria with Germany.

As such, they are pieces of History and should be regarded and respected as such.

I don't see any "Dirty Birds" on any of this stuff.

I see the National Crest of the Third Reich.

Can't figure some of this out: guys go all ga-ga over a Chrysanthemum or a Hammer and Sickle, yet these were emblems of Governments just as evil and barbaric as anything the Nazis ever did.

Hollywood conditioning........

The War has been over for 68 years but there is a lot of MONEY to be made from keeping the HATE alive.

If there were a few less Communists in Hollywood, we might get a smidgen of truth out of that cesspool some time.

Wise and very accurate words smellie.

I am still floored that Zdragunov would fire 100 rounds 8x56r ammo with the adler on it.

Friggin brutal.
