Thinking of mounting a 3X9X42 NC Star Compact scope on my CZ858 - are these scopes any good? Anyone know where I can get 'em in Canada? If they suck - recommend a good scope for this project that is 7.5" in length or under. Thanks everybody...
Like stated above, it depends on what they are intended for. But, I must say that I have tried both Leapers and NC Star and they have both functioned well and the optics are clear, even on the multi power. Granted the glass may be better on others but to each his own. Some like Bushnell others do not. I expect thats why there are so may scope makers out there. Everybody has their own preferences.. Now, I turn the floor over to the Leupold loyalists to debate with the Swarovski followers and even the Simmons guy to try his hand albeit brief...
Good luck

**as far as dealers in Canada, I have not seen any. I expect u have been shopping on ebay or other US retailers. You may have a problem getting it shipped to Canada, but go to a sporting goods retailer in Canada first and have a good look at whats out there
I have one mounted on the wife's .22. It works fine; but there is some distortion at the edges of the field. This might get annoying if you were looking through it for a long period; but for normal shooting the centre 4/5 of the field-of-view is nice and clear.
I stuck one of these on my R22. It works fine for the purpose in hand (ok the eye relief is really short) but for some reason I'm already shopping for a replacement.
