Hey guys just bought a ncstar railed sks gas tube for my sks so I didn't have to alter the original. Filed it so it fits nice and snug. Tried to fire and sks will not cycle the bolt. It's almost like the gas piston is 2 loose in the cylinder. Has anyone else had this problem? I think all it needs is a bigger gas piston. But don't know where to find an aftermarket.

Measure the piston bore on the original tube and the NC Star one and see how much different they are.

Omg something nc star didn't work so surprising

I hate to say it but the same thing went through my mind when I read the thread title.

Out of curiosity, what was the intended purpose of the aftermarket gas tube?

Probably because it has a rail on it. Try the BC Tactical Scout Mount, or the Scout Scopes SKS mount. With a compact red dot you never have to touch them for cleaning. You do have to trim the rail on the Scout Scopes mount tho, but I like it due to the back-up rear sight grove. The Tech-sights narrow front post works best with it.

Has same problem. They are all different specs. Some to work some don't. I hate to sound like everyone else but just try and get money back and forget about the whole situation.

Yep I bought one too a few years back and wrong specs. Pretty much crap and bought a piece of crap NC-star redot as well and it broke too! Never again. There is cheap and then there is NC-Star just stay away!
