Just a warning post in case you choose to upgrade your sks components, it may be a little more work than a quick swap. I can understand having to file the new tube shorter to fit snugly, but i wasn't expecting to have to dowel sand the inside of the tube for a half hour to even think about inserting the rod.
perhaps a lemon?

yeah, it was as though they painted it without sealing the ends. it was full of chunks left over from welding too!

I'd say you got a "QC Pass" part from NC Star, just wait until you try to zero your optic ;)

Lmao! Welcome to the world of professional Canadian gunsmithing! You can now hang out your shingle. *Jokes. Actually, I enjoy working on the gas tube. I have had quite a bit of fun tuning the bolt carrier velocity by drilling holes in the tube. I have reached the limit of drilling the holes out larger, I think I might try a new spring, I have a feeling an extra power spring might slow the cycle down even further.
