Anyone have any experience with NEA's 7.62x39?
I like the fact that they "can" shoot surplus ammo. Anyone have experience with them reliability, customer service, general feel/quality?

Throw some pics up if you want!

I have one, a newer gen lower with a slightly older upper and it works just fine. I only run non-corrosive thru it, as I don't want the hassle of trying to get into the gas tube to clean after surplus / corrosive.

If you're considering one, make sure you get a later gen version as they have had issues in the past, but it seems they've resolved most of that by now.

My gun club owns one and we run it hard. It breaks bolts somewhat regularly, but NEA always comes through and replaces them. I guess regularly is every 2000-3000 rounds.

I've had one for a couple of years, probably 2k or 3k rounds of Dominion ammo through it, steel cased. I put in an extra power hammer spring in the lower (to fix light primer strikes) and have never had an issue with it.

I had one for a while and didn't experience any issues. People that were having issues with hard primers needed a extra strength hammer spring. Mine didn't have an issues with steel case surplus, steel case commercial or brass... worked fine.

How do you identify a later gen. I am thinking about picking one up.

I had one NEA with non-staked gas key and fore-end wasn't fitting well to upper receiver so they had to use some kind of epoxy to center it correctly.

I think they make parts off shore, just barrels and receivers in Canada. Otherwise it would cost like Diemaco.

They are a lot of fun. This one is about 1k corrosive ammo in and works like a charm. Got it about 6 months ago. Put the XP hammer spring in it after getting 10% light strikes, now completely fine.

Anyone around Ottawa is more than welcome to try mine out to see for themselves how "crappy" it is. Ill exchange 10 rounds for a beer afterwards :p That is if you have a good life insurance policy because everyone knows it'll blow up in your face...

I`m up for that, do you have some gear I can wear or should I bring my own?
