NEA anodizing?

Just wondering if anybody knows why nea anodizing is that greyish colour? I'm thinking possibly they may glass bead the parts before anodizing? Any other ideas?

Type of aluminum, bead blasted base material, dye color, etc. Lots of factors. The main one likely being "that's the color the anodizing company uses".

The standard today is a black mil spec type 3 cold anodizing.
Not sure what process they are useing , but the company they use , most of the parts I have seen that are not dyed come out like that.
When anodizing comes out gray , that is standard, no dye added.
We found with our items that to much bead blasting flattened the surface and did not anodize well.
So we just vibe then anodize

I'd like to see them just make a standard mil spec upper/lower. The how to instructions are out there, the specs, dimensions, finish, everything that aerospace engineers should be able to pull off.....

my unerstanding is that is what they are having someone do ,make them forged uppers and lowers ,i think SFRC posted that a few months ago.
