I am getting the black rifle bug and the NEA-AR is what i want to get and support but need help in deciding what length i need as this will be my first (and only) AR.
This will be used for range paper/bragging rights between me and my wife as there is no where else or any competions i know of in my area of Sask to use this gun. Our range is only 100 yards so i guess i will never shoot any farther but being capable of sub acurate 200 yard shots would be nice.
As far as i can tell NEA has 7.5,10.5,12.5,14.5 and 18 versions.
I am sure the 7.5 is too short as I will be taking my p226 to the range also anyways and imo the 18 just looks too long as i just like a shorter more tactical looking gun.
Is their a sweet spot as far as size is concerned that shoots well and is fun for the 100 yard range im on? Probably just putting an eotech on for sights.

For us the 14.5" is the most popular followed by the 10.5", 7.5" and 18". 10.5" and 14.5" sales are very close. I shoot a 10.5".

i too am thinking about getting my first ar and had a similar question about effective range differences on barrels.

would the 10.5 not be able to hit a target at 200yds?

how much distance do you lose going down in inches on the barrel.

have been trying to research but all the information is in bullet drop and math was never my strong suit so trying to calculate is a waste of time for me.

Can you expand on why you are choosing the 10.5 over the 12.5? Is their a benefit?

No reason other then I already have a 16.5 and don't want one too close (14.5) to what I have. The 7.5 may be too short but I figure I'll do a 10.5 first and see how that turns out. 10.5 is still long and accurate enough to shoot to any of the distances I'll be at.....If I like the 10.5 I'll make my next one a 7.5 :D

Which one do you like the look of the most? Honestly any of them will be more than capable of punching paper at 100 yards so go with which one appeals to you aesthetically IMO.

FWIW, I was bitten by the same bug...NEA-15 14.5 was just the salve I needed! I haven't stretched her legs out past 100yds yet but I can tell you she is a TON of fun to shoot at 20, 50, and 100 :D
