NEA Barrel Question

Question to owners who use NEA barrels on their build. I am looking into a 14.5" NEA barrel for my next build.

I was looking at Canada Ammo and SFRC and got a little confused on the NEA Barrels they are selling.

The Canada Ammo ones have that little notch on the front (top picture) and the SFRC ones have no notch. Can somebody explain the difference?

Just the orientation of the photos. The little peg indexes in a notch in the upper receiver.

Are you talking about the groove ahead of the gas port?

I have this recollection that it was to screw the set screw on the gas block into so as to prevent the gas block from being pushed forward when being used with a supressor.
