If I use BUIS on my stock adaptor rail and gas block rail and mount an Aimpoint Comp C3 on my NEA handguard rail, Would I need a standard or tall sight, given the in-line stock to achieve a good cheek weld and still keep BUIS cowitness?

I'm trying to decide between an AMD 68 mount or a Larue mount. Both come in standard and tall.

I know standard will give bang-on co-witness and tall will give a lower 1/3 cowitness.

Wht I wnt to know is how these setups actually feel with the NEA in-line stock adaptor. Is the standard mount too low?

Regular BUIS work just fine wrt to cheek weld on that setup. A regular height Aimpoint mount has the same plane.

I like a bottom 1/3 co-witness so my head is up higher and the irons are blocking less of the sight picture when they're up.

Thanks Steve. Answers it perfectly.

I want to keep the Aimpoint as low as I can without messing up cheek weld. I'm not too worried about he BUIS since they will remain closed unless I get a dead battery or something in the middle of a shoot ;)

I have an AMD clone mount with spacers I can experiment with for now, then I'll mount my Aimpoint in something nicer when iget it figured out ;)

This is what I have been looking for but not Airsoft junk;

You think NEA or some one else could make something like this?

Have you seen one in person yet? It might not be that bad, even if it is airsoft. Obviously, you'd want to replace those phillips heads with allens though.

I can see the attraction, you'd get BUIS and still be able to use the NEA cantilever mount.
