NEA handguard question

Hey guys, I have a 10.5" NEA with the handguard with the goofy pinch bolt retention.

Saw a really nice 9" Troy Alpha rail at the local lgs today. It think it would be a lot slicker then the OEM one. Would this fit my rifle without taking off the barrel nut? Never swapped one before and wanted to be sure.

Yep bone stock rifle. It is an early gen I believe which had the hideous method of retaining the handguard. I hate it. Just wondering if the Troy handguard will work without further modification.

It will work if your NEA hand guard use a regular barrel nut.
