Nea lower for 7.62x39

Has anyone built a 7.62 AR with the NEA lower ? Any tips or suggestions would be welcome. Is this caliber reliable in the AR. First build just thinking of it for the cheap ammo.

I used an AR 15 NEA lower for my NEA AR 15 complete upper. Runs like a champ.

NEA do sell complete 7.62x39 rifles using NEA lowers it is safe to say it you shouldn't have any issues.

The lower won't be your issue IMO. Magazines are finnicky and can require a fair bit of "tweaking" to get them to run reliably. They run well after broken in, but take some time to get there.

^^^ correct. If you have M4 feed ramps and ASC brand 10 round XCR pistol mags, you should be good to go. I've also tried to mate a Colt lower with my NEA upper and there are some fitment issues. Thus I went with a dedicated NEA lower with a DPMS LPK.

For an upper, I'd suggest a PSA - mine's run flawlessly on any number of different lowers.

I looked into this and a gunsmith who has built a number of 7.62x39 ARs said the magazine that works best is the C-Products.

So to build a AR in 7.62x39 the mags would be the only issue really by the sounds of it. It would be the first time I built one so I'm doing my homework first.

Are there any other supplier other than NEA for 7.62x39? I was thinking of going into this route as well.
