Couldnt help but notice that the prices on the 14.5 have jumped from $1064 to $1158 on the NEA website. I can only assume that your prices will be reflecting that change soon and am wondering when this change will come into effect??

I was hoping that the $1000 range AR stuck around a little while longer :(

Oh and does anyone know why the price is jumping? I am assuming the changes made to the rifle based on user feedback has a part to play in this (new trigger springs, upped quality control etc)!!

Cool alias. There will be some extras coming with the guns, details to follow. People with guns pre ordered before the end of the year won't be effected.

Oooo I do like surprises!!! and thanks :) new twist on an older, slightly more inappropriate, phrase i spose lol!! I will quite possibly be in the market for one of these in 14.5 very shortly and will be coming your way with my wallet. Im thinking a road trip from the GTA is in order perhaps!

I hear that they are planning to include a mag and brand name grip with the rifle. My 14.5 cost me $1065, so $80 more for a mag and grip is a pretty good deal, in most cases probably cheaper then buying them separately.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Seriously Guy?

$22 for a P-Mag and $35 for A Magpul Grip.
I doubt it will have either. A cheap $10 USGI mag and a $15 Ergo grip most likely

I have to PM you, I got lots of stuff to sell you :D

I would love to see a deler selling an ergo grip and steel usgi mag for $25 on the combo. Please link us so everyone on cgn can get in on the deal

By the way, my name is not guy. I'm not Jamaican posse and I'm not a douche from Montreal

Pricing is increasing as of 1 Jan 2012. Any PO's received prior to that time are still at the old pricing.

Based on customer feedback we implemented a lot of design changes. Those changes cost us a lot of money... Money that the price increase isn't making up for, but covering going forward. We sourced new LPK springs, which cost more and we also did a complete stop on quad rails and binned our inventory because people weren't happy with them. We also wanted to work in a few extra points in for our dealers because of all the hard work they are doing. We want our customers to be happy with the product and our dealers to be happy with carrying them.

We hope to add some more extras in to increase the value as well, but all in all the price didn't go up even $100 and we still have a few models under $1000. For what you're getting it's still a hell of a deal.

Ergo's blow donkey ####.

So much for the sub 1000$ Canadian made AR.... Still a good deal, but only the first of the price increases...

You get more gun, it costs more naturally. The rifle we have today is not the rifle we released in October. Due to some minor design changes, prices had to change. This is a business and we have to make money to pay the bills. That being said, it's still a very well priced rifle, and well built one.

As for the pricing, in fact we looked at the numbers and decided to back off on the pricing a bit more. Our "sub $1000 AR" is now a $1003 AR.

To allude that it's the first of many price increases is a bit out of line though. We have a very strong track record of price stability in our products. In fact while pricing changes due to design alterations, upgrades, we're the ones that eat it out of our margins rather than pass it on to the dealers and customers. You never see it. In fact we have a much bigger record of price decreases than increases... as this is the first increase we have EVER had on any of our products. It doesn't do us any good keep moving pricing around.

We just try and forecast ahead to ensure that you get the best possible product at the best price that we can give it to you for.

Dave,
How do I go about getting the improved version? I'm fairly new to the AR scene and would really like to get one that will be trouble free.

Thanks!

Am I correct in reading that there will be no more Quad Rail as the standard for the NEA-15?

Correction, after re-reading your post, I see you are just pointing out the adjustments you have made in the past. This is great! I am looking to get my hands on a 14.5 in the New Year!

I've been in discussions with NEA and they are very keen on keeping the prices as reasonable as possible.

What will happen to keep the prices stable is: the proposed acccesory upgrades will be kept seperate so the consumer may choose if they want or not.

This should help.

But what I'm curious to know is, after reading about some of the things going on with the early rifles and NEA's fixes, how do I know if I'm buying one with the newer set up?
I've read that new rifles will get better trigger set ups, fore end alignment issues addressed, gas blocks misaligned but QC checks updated.
What I don't want to have to do with my brand new AR is have to take it to my armorer / mentor and have him fix all the little glitches. As you can imagine, I'm sure he would not give favorable views if this were the case.
I am very excited to see NEA develop these rifles and I do want to be part of their growth and success. I want to be able to say years down the road that I knew that NEA was on the right track for success and that I was there to be part of that.

From what I have gathered, every rifle that leaves NEA has the new rail and the new trigger, and a few other QC glitches addressed. So order from SFRC now, pay the old price, get free shipping, AND you are going to get all of the new improvements!

With any luck, my shameless plug for both NEA and SFRC will help speed along my order <wink, wink> ;)

I'm very new to the AR world and am looking for my first one <$1000. I was tempted with a Norc, but then had the chance of trying an NEA at the open day held at TSE.

I was very impressed with the NEA. I know they were the earlier guns, but they performed really well all day and seemed well-made. The customer service was excellent too. They appeared to be of a similar quality to other ARs costing a lot more.

Now, I admit to not being an AR expert (on the internet too - wow!) but from what I've seen the NEA was a good rifle, and it's definately very high on my list for a possible purchase.
