neat trick, hold my beer kind of cool.

I would like to see him try that with his thumb say.. a half inch away from the slide, let it unlock and see how that goes.

It's almost as if he know how the gun works or something...... I must say I don't think I would have thought to even try it!

Do that with a hot loaded 45......

It's not as crazy as it looks... It really doesn't take that much pressure to stop a semi-auto pistol from cycling/going back into battery.

Watch this video, he grips the pistol the way he does so that it doesn't allow the pistol to cycle (if it was shot), basically enabling it temporarily useless after that first shot. (Obviously "temporarily" until the person racks the slide again).

Not something I would try, but cool nonetheless. Wouldn't have thought that was doable before seeing that video.

Anyone who uses this in their training is getting a good laugh at some of the comments here - and yes, I've done it with 'hot loaded' 230 grain hollow points, and can still count to 10. Just like shooting someone with anything short of a Carl G. doesn't launch people backward through the air, locking the slide with your thumb to stop the slide riding back on the disconnector won't result in you losing a digit. In some circumstances (admittedly few) it might save your life - if I was an armored car guard, I'd be sure to be familiar with this option.
