Good day all, i’m sure there is a few on here that have them on there Ruger no1, they are really well and I really like that I can swap back and forth between it and the scope.... it one big problem is first when I ordered it I ordered also a new fibre optic front sight, my mistake for ordering the same hight as the stock one(no where on the website is telling me that it wouldn’t work) anyway I tried to zero it but even with the the peep all the way down I’m shooting 9” high at 50m(they said 18”@100).... so I emailed NECG to see what where my options and they tell me that even with there highest front sight I would still be +3”@50 and +12@100...

Any body else have had that issue? It seems odd that you can’t zero the rifle with a sight system designed for that rifle!

Damn some one else also told me he was fine! Maybe I keep it and try it on my other Ruger no1....

This is what they wrote me...
Hello Sir,
We are faced with many challenges when we offer aftermarket products. Peep sights for CZ and Ruger rifles are no different. Not all Ruger’s are created equal. When we were developing the sights, the Range master at Ruger’s Newport facility told me if he took 10 identical rifles in the same caliber and fired the same ammo at a pie plate size target at 25 yards you would have groups all over the plate if you even hit the plate. From time to time there is a gun that shoots too high or too low for our sights to correct.

Ruger No.1’s are often built with a tremendous amount of upward forend pressure. This effects the smaller barrels more than the larger magnum contours but can cause some issue. Ammo / bullet weights can cause this extreme variable. Unfortunately the Ruger Ghost Ring is no lower in sight line.
Without altering forend pressures and/or trying other ammo if you are unable to get the sights to work you can return them for a full refund.

Sincerely,
Mark Cromwell
