This is what happens after many many reloads when you get lazy and don't bother to anneal some expensive brass.

All three cases are Norma 9.3X62 brass, and could have been easily saved in a few minutes with some annealing.

It also happens if you don't anneal cheap brass :D

I never anneal anything, so I see this now and then, but then I no longer have anything that uses expensive brass, so I just pitch it.

The handloader in me looks at the brass, and knows you don't use hot loads, this is just general hardening from working the brass over time.
