Neck sizing 223AI

Is there any reason that a Lee Collet neck size die in 22/250 cannot be used to neck size a 223AI case?

Collett dies require that the cartridge be of the correct length for it to be activated correctly, and the 22-250 is 150 thou longer than the 223, so I doubt it. You could use a 22-250 F/L sizer, although you might not be able to size all of the neck. Have you tried a 223 Collett die? There might be enough clearance in the die to accomodate the AI shoulder.

I was wondering about that as well. Would be a better option and you could seat the bullets with a 22/250 seater die.

I've got a .223 collet die, and a Hornady .22-250 seater and the whole system works quite nicely for my .223AI.

Think about 40 gr bullets at well beyond 3900 fps..... and 75 gr at a tad over 3000 out of a 22 inch barrel.

8lbs on the nose w/o the bipod, but the balance makes it feel much lighter.

62 tsx- not sure, but it does break shoulders...

I'm going to try it in a Ti takeoff, and decide which stock I like it in better.
