Hey guys,
I'm having a problem with trimming my cases after I neck size them with a redding Competion bushing die. The Lee trimer I use does not fit in the case. What do I do?

Maybe trim the cases before you size them? Otherwise get someone to slim down the Lee trimmer pilot?

Get a larger bushing perhaps?

What size is your bushing in comparison to your loaded round measurment?

Should be only .001-.002 smaller than your loaded round which should leave plenty of room for the case to fit over the spindle on the Lee trimmer.

I've used a FL Size die which shrinks the neck more than your bushing die should be and had no problem trimming brass.

I now use a Wilson trimmer so I haven't used the Lee trimmer for a couple of years.

It is common for lee trimmer pilots to be too tight. Remove pilot from cutter, chuck one end into electric drill, sand down with 320 then 400 grit(you only need .0005 to .001). Repeatedly try pilot in your case until slip fit occurs, then switch ends and repeat. Don't round off the shoulder edge at threaded end. Lee=buy new, fix them and then they work well forever.

had to do the same with some of my lee trimmer pilots as well , Drill press works smooth as you will have 2 hands free
