Neck Trimming

Just wanted to know if anyone trims their neck brass? Did you notice a significant difference?

Thanx.

Every one that does any amount of loading and shooting trims their brass when it becomes longer than it should. Some folks trim new brass as well. What caliber are you loading for? FS

Tilo, did you mean neck "turning"?

Maynard is right . This operation only benifits tight neck chambers. Turning off material from your brass and then sliding them into a factory chamber usually leaves them pretty LOOSE

Unless you are shooting a tight necked custom chamber neck turning would be a waste of time.

I agree with the above other than the fact of a "Tight Necked" chamber.

I turned my brass to 80-90% clean for my custom No Turn neck 6BR.

If you are loading for a factory rifle, forget it, just shoot the brass the way it is. If you have a custom barrel chambered then you might see some benefits.

Thanks for the information guys, you saved me time and money. I shoot a factory rifle and will one day have it re-barrelled.
