Since I can not find any 358 win brass, I should be able to neck up 308s with no problem at all, right?? I have about 3000 308 brass, so if it works well, I will have no need to buy the 358 brass at almost twice the cost.

Thanks
Duane

i reload 358 and have never bought 358 brass. lube inside of neck and run 308 brass thru your sizing die. takes a bit of effort. trim to lenth after sizing.

yes with a tapered expander and lots of lube it works fine I've done lots of 30-05 to 35 whelen and 338 mag to 416 taylor this way

Imperial die sizing wax is the best I've found, and the long expander in LEE dies also works better than the RCBS tapered expander in my experience.

I usually check for even neck thickness with calipers and cull out any that are measurably out, since they are cheap enough.

I have reformed all kinds of 308 to 358 with no problem at all. It is much easier with a long tapered expander in the sizing, of course. ;)

One pass through the full length sizing die, square up the case mouth, chamfer and you're good to go.
