As it says, I am looking for 38-55 ammo, does anyone know where I can find some? I have been looking for months and nothing has shown in Calgary. I did not even see any at the gun show last week.

Help is appreciated.

We always have some in stock here at the shop in P/A Sask., don't know if that helps you at all and it don't come cheap! The 38/55 is one of those rounds that you can save alot of money on if you reload, plain base lead cast bullet, minimum amount of powder, probably cost you around $7 to reload a box....retail cost over $30.

Reloading is the way to go. You can try Marstar in Ontario. They ship via messenger. About $30 per box of 20.Plus shipping. That is where i got my first carts. Now I reload everything. I love shooting the 38-55 especially.

You can also anneal 30-30 shells and fire form them or .375 shells (but not the loading data). Modern 38-55 shells are the same length as 30-30 shells while older shells are slightly longer.

Have you tried Wholesale Sports, Russells, Proline Shooters in Calgary?
If none have these, check up the road in Red Deer at Back Country Sports, Sportsmen's Den, Canadian Tire (South).
Another place to check would be Bashaw Sports Centre in Bashaw.
Edmonton: wholesale Sports, P&D Enterprises

I agree with Ben, consider getting into reloading.

Epp's is listing it. Doesn't say what make though. Shipping cost will be a killer.
Like Ben says, reloading is the way to go. It'll make your endless search go away and you'll be shooting ammo that is tailored for your rifle.

If your willing to make the drive up to Stettler I saw about a 1/2 dozen boxes at Battle River Sports I think its called? They had 3 boxes of old Dominion brand with lead bullets, and the winchesters I think. Decent prices as far as 38-55 goes cant remember exact $$$, I was going to clean them out but im thinking of selling my 38-55 so I didnt bother...
