I am looking for 7.62x39 soft point hunting rounds for my CZ 527 and it is as rare as hens teeth out here on the pacific coast.
I just picked up 650 rnds of 303 British IVI 180 gr. for my Cabin Gun and 80 rnds of 308 Remington and Federals. Anyone know who has the 7.62X39 soft points out here?
Apreciate the help.

I just bought 6 boxes of MFS 125gr. soft point. Never heard of these before hope they work out well in the CZ 527. I will keep my eyes open for some of the PRVI stuff in the carbine as well.

I shoot a lot of mfs but i have never found soft point they are all steel case but it is a great round i shoot it at outdoor ranges

try finding hornady zombie ammo, I think some suppliers might still have some. it uses the amax bullet and is a great hunting round. mexican match works okay too, pull a surplus round and replace it with a hunting tip.

Will reload for this round as soon as I get enough brass to make it worth while. Thanks for all the feed back guys, will try the MFS soft points first then move on if the CZ doesn't fancy it, even then would like to try the Federal just for the brass if it doesn't like it that much. Trying to hold off till I can get back up to the ranch and my range, just too much snow right now and we brought the sled home. I'm trying to copy Hickok 45's range and want to take some steel up there, I cleared it out to 200yds and the firing point has a shelter and bench. Can't wait!! Thanks again

Give us a range report! I have had poor experiences with com block soft bullets not expanding.

Yes I will give a report on the accuracy and once its sighted I will try different medium such as wet phone books ect. Might be a week or so.
Out of curiosity can anyone tell me if this MFS 125 gr soft point is corrosive? It doesn't state on the box one way or the other.
Thnx

Pretty sure the HRN zombie 7.62x39 is steel case, rest is brass.

Only diff is Hickok45 blast his handguns on his range, we're restricted to non-restricted. AND one and only warning, don't spell HICKOK45 wrong again

I've heard bad stories about A-MAX bullets and hunting. They fracture and deflect on bones easily because they aren't bonded. Drops the game, yes, but often at the cost of more wasted meat.

Hornady only make 2 different 7.62x39 rounds as loaded ammo and both are steel cased. One is shiny and the other is coated. Don't remember which is which.

Non corrosive. Good stuff too from what I have read. Do you have a Chrony? That would be intesting to know too.

yup, deffinately the zombie ammo is steel cased, says right on the package, harder to find brass but i picked up a bunch of factory for $11 a box and reloading off that.
