Well the new to me rifle is on the way so am going to have to assemble something to feed it. Anyone know where to buy dies for this cartridge?

Thanks guys, been doing some reading and it appears with the hornady tapered expander its easy to neck up 8x57 brass so I'll get ahold of Dave at BC redneck and get a set on the way. Dont be shy with your favorite loads as it seems a hard cartridge to find load data for.

Rimmed or Mauser? A Yahoo search turns up lots of sites with data. I'd guess finding .366" diameter bullets may be more difficult than finding data. RCBS makes dies. They're a 90 day + special order item from Midway and $133.99US. Try Epp's though.

If you check the Swedish Civilian and Commercial Rifles forum at gunboards.com, there is a post there on Canadian Suppliers for 9.3x57 components. I got my Hornady dies for the 9.3x57 and 9.3x62 from Elwood Epps, 9.3x62 brass and 9.3mm bullets from BCRedneck.com and 9.3x57 brass from Higginsons Powders. Good luck with your new toy.

As far as loads go. What kind of rifle are you using?

The Husky I had was a 98 Mauser, and the chamber was REALLY long.
I seated the bullets as long as I could which ended up being near the same COL as the 9,3x62 is listed at in the Speer manual and the 270gr bullet.

For powder I tried H4895, H414, IMR 3031 and the best was H335.
The rifle wasn't picky as far as grouping, it shot all the loads well.

I worked up the 270gr Speer to 2460 with H335 and had no issues except for where the iron sights were regulated for a fat 286gr going much slower. Expect to hit much higher if you are using the irons.
It would group 1 1/4" , 100 yards, shooting off one knee which seemed to work for me.

Noel the rifle is a husky 96 sporter in 9.3x57, I just had Dave at BC redneck order me the dies and 100 8x57 brass, with hornadys tapered expander they should neck up with no problems. I also own and load for the 9.3x62 and am looking forward to experimenting with the x57 and the the 270 speer bullets. Thanks for the tip Buckbrush/Beadwindow as I had forgot about higginsons , I'll check into the brass there as well
