On my maiden trip to the range the magazine locked into place, I couldn't push the mag release to release the mag? we tapped on the button with a plastic mallet until the mag finally dropped. Next I tried to remove the catch by pushing the button while gently turning the catch lock screw, a small piece of the catch lock screw fell off, now the mag catch moves freely the piece that fell off must have been causing the sticky problem.
This was on a new Para Ordinance 1911 Expert pistol I don't want to go through warranty for a $5 part, problem is all I can find is a new extended release and for some reason the mag lock and spring are sold separately (not in stock).
Anybody know where I can find the whole assembly in Canada?

Get another one elsewhere for now, but photograph the old one, send it to them and get them to send you a replacement on warranty; then you have a spare.
