Need a bipod for SIG SSG 3000, which is best??

Harris or Atlas?
I would appreciate any thoughts on this…
This is a new venture for me, (precision rifle for long-range)…
Thank you, guys!

Hi SQUAREHEAD1, I just received my new SSG 3000. Looking for a bipod too. I did quite a bit of reading and leaning toward to get an Atlas bipod. I had been using Harris for years. Comparison wise, I read Atlas is more sturdy, and it won't skid or jump up while shooting. I was shooting magnum rounds before. Maybe it won't happen to .308 on SSG 3000, I don't know. If you need a followup shot, it's very important to see where you had the first one. This is my 0.02.

Have had both harris and atlas bipods. Honestly atlas bipods are the best way to go. Much sturdier than the harris and provides a much more stable shooting platform.

Wow… Always choices… Choices and more choices… Thank you guys!
Pretty awesome rifle, Isn't it, Prairie Hunter?!

I'm going to take my SSG 3000 to shooting range this morning. I added 20 MOA to it, so I have to zero it in again. Will see how it shoots, should be very good. I'm going to use Lapua 155 g Scenar for now, hopefully I can get into reloading after finish all the rounds. What are you going to use for precision shooting and hunting? What kind of setup you are having for your SSG 3000?

I'm planning to try the Versa Pod. I need to add 20 MOA to mine too. How did you do it? Did you get special rings? That's what I was thinking of doing. I love the rifle so far.

I bought a set of Leupold PRW High ring set from a member here. It didn't fit, so I took my scope and rifle in to Cabelas. Bought a set of Burris Signature Zee High Rings, that comes with Burris XTB “Zero offset” inserts. The inserts could shim up the scope to 20 MOA. I took the rifle to shooting range this morning. Shot a group of 3 at 200 yards, that is so impressive, I couldn't believe my eyes. The SSG 3000 is the most accurate precision rifle I had ever shot in my life!

That is a wicked group! Is this your first time shooting this rifle? Regardless it is fantastic . I hope some dealers get these in stock soon for a not too ridiculous price.

If the goal is maximum stability and accuracy off a bipod and you don't need it to fold onto the rifle, consider the MPOD. Weighs in about the same as a Harris. Similar cost to the Atlas (likely less). Far more stable then either.

The new Sinclair is better than the Atlas which is better than a Harris and they'll ship direct . My opinion and shared by others I shoot with . 200 bux .
