need a budget flashlight for my 12g

yes.
what's the bank breaking limit?

spend the money, buy a shock resistant surefire, fenix etc. the recoil will f*ck up a lot of flashlights.

do you want throw?

are you indoors?white walls? 150 will be a lot for you and your sleep f*cked eyes to handle.

Shotgun recoil will f**k up a low end flashlight so unless you want to buy a case of em and replace it everytime you shoot spend the money once and not be disapointed.

For what you get Fenix flashlights are fantastic. I have a TK15 on my 870 and a PD32 that I have been trying for months to break or drown. Half the price of surefire but far more than half as tough.

get the ones they sell at costco there 15$ for 3 and there very bright and go a far distance and last a good while to.

your shotgun will turn those electronics into a Charlie Foxtrot after a bit.

get a fenix, pay a little more. They are darn good lights.

Fenix all the way. My TK12R5 has seen hundreds of buck and slug loads on the Benelli and hundreds of X39 rds on the 858 with zero issues. Fenix lights have multiple modes, mine does 11 lumens for map reading, 65 lumens for basic around camp stuff, 120 lumens for longer range illumination and 280 lumens for killing small animals/lighting fires/clearly illuminating targets at 200 yds :) With a qd mount you can pull it off the shotgun quickly, use it on other guns and use it as a flashlight around camp. They run in the $50-$100 range IIRC. Mine was $70 US from opticsplanet, not sure if they still ship up here but there are many dealers in Canada. They also accept 18650 li-ion batteries which is a big plus. cr123's are about 10 bucks each locally, thats 20 bucks for 1.5 hrs runtime on max brightness. The li-ions are rechargeable. I think I paid 15 bucks for two 18650 batteries and a charger on ebay.

I just need to find a way to attach my tk30 to my shotgun, then I'm gtg...

That's one huge flashlight. This mount i pretty universal though, cheap enough to try at least.

Not sure how narrow the TK30 gets.

I know you said your limit was $50, but I had an experience with a fenix a bit more costly I thought I'd share. I have the TK15, that was just under $100.

It runs on two CR123's, and has a max output of 337 lumens. It is unfathomably bright. It seriously lights up the night. It has several light output levels, and the brightest one would be great for a camp at night. The dimmer ones would be good for inside.

All metal construction, LED bulb. Amazing light, can't say enough good about it.

A cheap flashlight is great for photo ops, but if you plan on being able to see your target AFTER the first shot I can't recommend one. I can tell you from experience that your average $50 light won't stand up to the recoil of a paintball gun. Save the $50 now to put towards a better one or the batteries for it. The suggestion of a headlamp sounds like a good one though, I don't ever go camping without one and it won't be affected by the recoil, and doesn't require waving a shotgun around at your family to be able to see them in the dark.

fenix is a brand? type? costs?

no relation ;)

And another vote here for Fenix lights.. have a TK10 and something else and they are both excellent.. both have been weaponlights for mixed firearms for a few years now, and both still perform excellently.. i use my TK10 daily ( maybe not daily, but pretty often ) and have owned it for 4 years now.. only on my 3rd recharge of the batteries.. they last forever if you use it sensibly
