Just got a Giraud look alike and the seller only had a .308 case holder.
Now I need a 6.5x47 Lapua case holder.

Threads are 7/8'' like a reloading die, chambered in 6.5x47L, and this unit height will help me adjust for trim lenght.

Please PM me with a price shipped to Ottawa and we can discuss this further.
Thanks.

Hmm, a CNC machined part would obviously be best here, but I'm curious to know if a 3D printed case holder would work.

It would index off the case shoulder, I'm thinking something like the Worlds Cheapest Trimmer body except with 7/8-14 threads on the outside.

Might give it a try since I have the same unit coming soon -- if I had a 6.5x47 Lapua case to test with, I could print a couple to try out.

The way I see it, a FLS die cut to propper lenght, and with a chamber reamer passed through, would do the job.
Heck some 7/8'' aluminium rod would work too in a pinch.

Unfortunately I am not for plastic in this specific use.

My gunsmith made my 6.5x47 and 223 case holders. Just steel rod turned down and threaded, with a chamber cut in. Very simple.

I believe most if not all sizing dies are hardened, so opening up one with a reamer won't work. If you have the reamer, you'd might as well make the holder from scratch. Cheaper and easier then modifying a die.

Forster lock rings for ease of adjustment and changing between them.

Can you post or PM where you got it done please?
Thanks

EM Precision in Spruce Grove. Any gunsmith should be able to make them no problem. If possible, I would recommend using the same reamer that was used to chamber your rifles. But since you trim after sizing, this really shouldn't be an issue either way.

Got the lock rings from Hirsch.

1. I was told they don't want to ship to Canada anymore
2. International shipping for such a small part is almost irrational, someone with a lathe and an open mind could get this done.

You could probably get it made out of a shot out barrel in that caliber too. Just have it cut to length and the outside threaded.

If you find someone who is willing to give it a go shoot me a PM also. I'm having a hard time getting shell holders for a Gracey Trimmer. Basically the same idea but a different external thread. Looking to get .243,6.5cr and 300wm.

A piece of B-7,Grd 8 equiv All Thread rod purchased in 3ft length.

Face sheered end & part off a stub length in a lathe.
Face the parted end & ctr drill to pre drill prior to reaming.
Ream or bore for specific case.

I use the Giraud for bottle neck cases & a Gracey w/ indexable insert for straight wall/rimmed cases.
1 holder was purchased w/ each unit when new.
dozens of case holders manufactured from Hornet to 50BMG & 38spl to 454Casull.

They will ship to Canada
Very simple to make. Just thread a piece of old barrel and run your reamer in. Actually is way better than a bought one

The insert on Giraud is spring loaded..it is not just a chamber.
They sell blank..
Having a gunsmith make them will cost way more than order the part...

I just got my 308 blade cutter assembly and shell order a month ago
