I can't get below 4 pounds with the heavy duty factory trigger spring on a 80's model 70
So I cut a bit off of the spring with little change in trigger pull weight.
So now I'm looking for a lighter spring. Lots in the U.S. but they won't ship here.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Just about every gunsmith has an assortment of springs that can be cut to length and used... you must have a shop close by?

The traditional M70 trigger is adjustable for weight and over travel. The two jam nuts may be moved along the screw to increase and decrease the pull. The screw can be adjusted to reduce over travel. Just make sure that after adjusting, the jam nuts are well locked.

Even with the spring entirely removed the trigger pull is near 3 lbs. Maybe the sear spring is too heavy providing too much force so that the trigger piece is too stiff to release??
Hmm

Time to take it to a gunsmith for a little stoning. If he thinks it needs a different spring he's in a good position to supply it.
