So the build is for going out long on steel and paper, 1000 yards plus. Rifle is a Rem 700sa getting a RKS gain twist 14" - 7.5" to 1 heavy barrel that should finish up at 26" length chambered in 243AI.
Which bullet would you choose and what powder would you try first with it? I'm new to gain twist barrels and the AI version of the 243.
Feel free to pm with more insight if you'd prefer, thanks

I would also look at Sierra's new 110gr, youll need a 7tw with that. As for powders with my limited experience I would look at h4350 for even h1000.

I wanted to try the 110's in my 8tw but decided to go with the new Nosler RDF 105's. Right now Im shooting the 95 TMK's.

Today there are a ton of options.

I would go from 95 to 108gr... plenty of options from Berger, Nosler, Hornady, Sierra and Lapua

Just tested some of the Nosler RDF 22cal bullets and first impressions are very positive.

new hrn 108gr ELD is coming up and should also be very interesting.

Not sure then when the Sierra 110's are going to be available but might need a faster twist????

Thanks for the input guys,
How about the Matrix 105 grain match?
Whats the difference between the 105 Scenar and the 105 Scenar L? Is one more accurate or higher bc?

The Matrix are a superbly made bullet and would certainly be one to consider.

Lapua's of old were on the smaller side and didn't work in a number of barrels. No clue where they are today.... but certainly worth a try as past experience has shown them to be very consistent.

6mm and 6.5mm are now the darlings of the match bullet world... lots and lots of options.
