Hello,

I'm looking for a peep sight for my rifle (Mauser 96) and wanted some opinions. The gun is already drilled and tapped for a Weaver base and if possible, I'd like to mount my peep there. I've been doing a bit of research, but the only peep I can find that mounts like this is one made by NECG. Has anyone used this sight? I've used Williams FP's in the past and really enjoy them, but it looks like I'd have to drill some more holes? Any thoughts?

Ashley outdoors or as they were know XS-sights make a clamp on peep to fit weaver or talley bases, i have one new ,made for Talley bases, you will need a very high front sight to make this work out! If you need anything give me a quick PM here, cheers daleZ!

Cory, you can get a Williams aperture sight that fits the holes already drilled in the top of the receiver bridge of your rifle.

Here's the one you need, part #WGRS-FN

I have used this sight on several rifles, and it works fine.

You will have to file/shape the charger hump to match the contour of the rest of the bridge, but that is a simple job. You will not have to drill holes in the side of the bridge, and it requires a much lower front sight than the Ashley/XS sight on a Weaver base.

Thanks Ted, that looks just like what I want (and the price is nice ;)). Can I order direct from Williams or do I go through a dealer?
