I'm looking to replace the contents of my Caldwell rear bunny ear bag. I used to like the case tumbler media, but it's on the heavy side. I've read that plastic beads used for bean bags is more ideal.

Now I just gotta locate some of them. Online ordering is best for me living in a small town.

I realize that there are online sources like Amazon , but I only will be needing to fill all of 2 rear bags and the minimum 2.5 cubic feet is way too much volume to even use. What's your experience ?

Any suggestions ?

Cheers,
Barney

Hey Hungry, go over to your local industrial park and find an injection molding company (or ask any of the people you shoot with if they work in plastic injection). Ask for a couple pounds of poly-pro or poly-e and throw the guy a few bucks. Worst case go to the molding shop and look around the silos, there is guaranteed to be some spilled on the ground there. If the stuff is really dirty/oily you can wash it with soap and water in some sort of bag.

Another location - Michaels Craft stores, they're all over the place. They carry the poly beads. They're heavy but real slippery so they move nicely inside the bag. Every time I build up a new shooting sock I just run over there and buy a bunch of bags of the stuff.

Jay:

That's exactly the ticket. I'll be in Barrie, there is a Michael's in the south end near Walmart.

Thanks for the advice... I'll give them a try and get back to this thread.

I've used flax seed to fill bags. They are slippery and move well and also have a bit of weight. If you know any growers they'll usually just give you some.

Signguy: Thanks for the belly laugh. My wife thought that was funny, me going through all my sons' beenie babies on their shelves with my USMC Kabar LOL.

I'll hit the dollar stores today first and then Cambodian Tire for the 6mm airsoft pellets, that might be the volume I need for the Caldwell rear bunny bag.
