Need a trigger pin for my Shadow

My trigger spring broke last week. I found a replacement spring locally, but not the trigger pin. Once I removed & re-installed the original pin, it no longer stays put, and drifts out slowly from recoil. Those roll pins can be a PITA, even though I have the roll pin punches I still managed to mess it up, I guess. Or I just didn't stake it in properly.

While disassembling the gun I noticed that the tip of the sear spring is also broken. It had enough of the tip left to fit it back into the safety's notch, but just barely. So I'll need that part as well.

Who carries parts for the Shadow in Canada? I sometimes order from czcustom, but they ship to the US only, and I wasn't planning to go there for a while.

Ceezer, where art thou, brother? ;)

You don't need a new pin. You just need to get a rounded end or shallow angle cone end punch and flare out the hollow end of the pin you have.

You'd have to do the same with a new pin.

A "cheater" way to do this is to get about a 3/16 bearing ball and a regular flat punch. Or if you trust yourself not to hit the frame you can just use a hammer with the ball. Set the ball into the hollow in the end of the pin. Then give 'er a fairly stout "love tap" using the punch and hammer. The shape of the bearing ball will flare out the sides of the hollow nicely and lock the pin in place again.

Note that you'll want to shim up the gun to stabilize it while doing this. Or get some extra hands to help out.

The 3/16 bearing balls are commonly used for front wheels of bicycles. If you don't have something close you can pick up a single ball or two from any bike shop.

Thanks everyone!

I do have a set of roll pin punches, including a 3/16, but I must have been too gentle with it. I'll try again.

Good to know about czcustom and crafm as well.
