Looking for a air pistol and and air rifle but not sure what to get.

Here are some of my criteria and I hope some of the more experienced members can offer suggestions.

Main use if for fun and a bit of target practice.
I will be using it, but as well as my children to ge them familair and proficient.

I would prefer a repeater as opposed to a single shot. At least in a pistol. Although those MP5 lookalikes would just thrill my kids! I do have a break open type single shot currently and woudln't necessarily object to having another one maybe with target sights.

I was thinking something like a 1911 model, as that is one of my main pistols that I currently shoot now.

I also dont know what the differences between various manufacturers.

I dont mind spending the money on quality, but if cost can be kept down, so much the better.

Any guidance would be appreciated!

Thanks

There are several good makes out there. I enjoy Umarex's model of the PX4 Storm. It looks very real and the blowback operation brings a little more realism to the expierence. Take a look and let us know what you think!

I would spend the money on a crosman 2240. Can`t go wrong with it for the $75. The PX4 is hit and miss for accuracy. Mostly miss. There are a ton of mods for the 2240 too. It is single shot .22 but is really easy on CO2. Depends what you want though, accuracy or blowback...

If you want a quality repeater and your kids can steady a little weight, I suggest the steel framed umarex cp88, very accurate, nice trigger and you get plenty of shots per co2. You can't get a better co2 repeater for the money IMO, and i've owned quite a few before landing the cp88 competition.

For a neat rifle, look at the Baikal izh-61. It's a repeater, spring powered, with adjustable stock and nice triger. Hard to beat for the price and it also looks cool. Airgun Source in Ontario can get you one. A fun gun for adults and kids who want to learn. You can even scope it if you get a decent mount.

+1

I am on my 2nd one (first one started leaking after 7 years). This thing is very accurate and will take a squarrel at 50+ ft.
