I finally joined the AR club with a 14.5" CMMG AR15. Totally stock so far.
I'm looking to get a free float rail for it, but don't know enough about them to make a wise choice. I used the search function and read up on a few different brands. Found a bunch of good reviews about the Troy, Midwest Industries, Omega and Larue rails. All sound like good quality manufacturers.
I plan to cut down my front sight, looks easy enough. Im pretty handy with a dremel and grinder.

I am having a hard time deciding between 10" and 12".
Does anyone know if the 10" Carbine rails install and fit the same way as the 12" rifle rails?
Does anyone have any pictures of either 10" or 12" rails on a 14.5" barrel they can post?
Will any of the above brands listed NOT fit over a cut down front sights?
Any opinions on the end caps. cool, not cool? Ive seen a couple pictures where they look nice, but never in real life.
Which sponsor has them in stock? I tried a few sponsors sites but most don't have anything listed.
