Hi folks !!

I'm going to my first ever gun show at the end of the month, looking to purchase a good used 22LR.

I have a budget of max $200 (that is what I would spend at Cabela's or Wholesale Sports for a similar firearm).

Amy recommendations/advice on brand, specs, condition, etc...

Thx a bunch.

I have a Cooey Model 60 with a tube fed magazine, and its a absolute laser (for a .22). I got it from my dad, hadn't been fired for 20 + years, but cleaned up beautifully. I liked it so much I sold my 10/22!

For $200 you can get a much better rifle than a Cooey.
Watch for a Model 69 Winchester, but not that many of them around.
There are lots of old Mossberg's out there someplace, in a great many variations of quality. Nothing wrong with the cheap ones, but better ones have various quality peep sights and while the cheapest have a trigger at least as good as a Cooey trigger, the better ones have triggers that at least equal a Model 69 Winchester. Couple that with good peep sights and you have a real sleeper out there. And there were many thousands of them sold in the twenty five years following WW2!

I agree with the gun powder feller's opinion of the Winchester 69 and 69A's.
I'm still on the look out for one with a grooved receiver.
If you care for a single shot, the Winchester 68 and 67's are good shooters too.
Quiet like a bunny if you are shooting shorts.

If you can stumble upon an old T-Bolt or Brno's for cheap, grab it.
I sense that the sniffers know all too well what these bring for $$.
Nothing wrong with an older BL-22 t'eyether.
