Looking for advice regarding a decent glock replica. I would like to practice and train with a glock replica (glock 22,40 cal), but don't want to shell out for a real one and range fees. I know that a replica won't be the same, but I would like to try and find a decent quality one that feels realistic and that won't break the bank. I would like to stay under $200. I have researched a few (umarex, Skelton sidearms, kjw) but couldn't find much for reviews on them. I checked but there doesn't seem to be much current info regarding glock replicas on the forum, so any help/experiences given would be apperciated. Thanks

Goto airsoft Canada forums, get age verified, pick up a mauri glock airsoft gun,
Will be the most realistic replica you can get for 300 bucks, right down to the
Magazines. and you can use propane instead of co2 (cheap)

check out airgunforum.ca as well -

also have a browse through Replica Airguns.com h ttp://www.replicaairguns.com/

Actually this is a Glock replica, no idea how close it is: h ttp://www.replicaairguns.com/buy-air-blank-guns/#!/~/product/category=722886&id=6320887

and these guys: h ttp://airgunsource.com/store/index.php?cpage=intro

Good luck

If you are planning on using it for shooting stance practice, pull, draw practice maybe you should consider an airsoft.

I recommend the WE G17, G18C gas block back pistol
The pros on WE G17, G18C are:

-Cheap, The WE G17 can be found for around $200.

-The grouping is similar in size as a real G17 can produce in most of the close range shooting drills.

-Taiwanese made internal is more robust as the factory velocity is higher, the airsoft gun is not messed with when imported into Canada.

The cons are(not deadly sins, just things different then the real G17):

-The slide is .01" too wide and the frame is .05" too wide compared to the real G17, some holsters might not fit the airsoft.

-Trigger pull and pre-travel pull is lighter when compared to the real G17, but pre-travel pull weight can be added by addition of heavier trigger return spring.

-The weight distribution as a whole gun feels close to the real G17, but when the gun is taken apart, the slide is on the light side, the frame is front heavy when compared to the real gun.

-Gas blow back produces some kick, but not a whole lot like the real gun.

-Slide only come off when the gun is cocked.

The KWA ATP is designed specifically as a training pistol for full sized glocks. Doesn't look exactly like a glock for legal reasons, but it will fit in glock holsters etc, KWA makes some of the highest quality airsoft guns, and are commonly used by LEO for weapon handling and force on force training. you can get them for about $160, extra mags are usually around $40 and they run off of green gas or propane. you can get it here.

Replicas are a no-go in Canada. Go for an Airsoft like the the Tokyo Marui Glock 18C with a dark translucent receiver, LOL. It's pretty cool - Mach1 Airsoft has them.

actually not the case anymore, airsoft guns have been reclassified as "unregulated firearms" making them the same as paintball markers and airguns, and I would know, as I sit I am currently surrounded by no less than 9 full black non-tinted airsoft guns, that are completely indistinguishable from real firearms without close inspection. can even give you guys some pics if you want the gun-pr0nz.

Paladin is correct. Airgunforum.ca and Replica Airguns.com have some great reading on that subject.

I have a BB blowback taurus /Beretta 92 I use for IDPA practice, incredibly detailed. And perfectly legal in Canada. Would I brandish it in public? No way.

oh yah, can you point me to the new rules? better safe than sorry

As long as the energy is sufficient to be dangerous then it is not a "replica" but would be a firearm that is not subject to the licensing & registration (and classification) portions of the Firearms Act. Pay attention to the fact that they still meet the CCC definition of a "firearm" for most if not all of that burdensome legislation...should they be used illegally anyway.

If the muzzle energy & velocity thresholds are crossed then you have a firearm that is subject to ALL parts of the FA.
