Need advice, sw22 victory full mod, or, Hammerli x-esse ipsc?

I am in the market for a target pistol 22lr.
My first choice is the Hammerli x-esse ipsc.
But, I look at a alternative, the sw22 victory, full tandemkross mods (trigger, hammer, etc...), with the volquartsen I-Fluted SS Barrel with Forward Blow Comp for SW22. Beautiful...
Cost, Hammerli with picatinny rail,
Total $1200 can
Sw22 $400can , tandemkross# near $470can, volquartsen $430can,
Total $1300can
So, which one, and why?

I'm assuming you're shooting ipsc with these?

Right out of the box the Hammerli naturally points much better than the Victory, but I don't have any upgrades on mine. You have to try them both.
 
Precision targeting, no competion. I choosen the ipsc because of the picatinny rail. I want to use a red dot or scope.
Budget is $1000, $1500, I do not want a collection, just buy precision and quality, in 22lr. I want to make one buy, no try and error, not enought money for that. I am a good buyer, but I sell nothing. I have a cz75 pre b, and s&w 686 357 6 inch, special with adjustable front sight. So for me I will cover enought caliber with hand gun. I try to find something used, but it is gambling for me, and i hate this.

I find the X-esse on the light side. barrel weight should help.
If you don't need the optics I would go with a used Walther GSP for a lot less money.
Shooting one handed I assume?

I found the same thing when I was shooting a X-esse also, it had the adjustable target grip, which was real nice.
Always worked. the I tool in a Hammerli International and that thing was a target gun , I shoot 1000's of rounds of all types of ammo, and don't think it ever missed one.
Trade EX has 2-3 listed for sale , used, one is complete with weights, extra mags, one is just one mag, come to think about it, I may have got it from Trade X also.
I shoot mainly Hi Standards these days.
I made mags from the X-esse work in the international, the shape / angles are the same, I modified the plastic bottom of the mag and it worked great in the International.
I had stocked up on mags for these years ago when I was shooting them, may have a couple of new ones left in stock.
I also shot a Walter GSP, but it never felt right for me, always went back to Hi standard Victors or whatever.
If you want a good long lasting gun that is not just for plinking, stay away from the GSG's, no steel , some of the rugers are not bad, triggers are terrible after shooting match grade guns.
Check out Trade X website , handguns , he has some good ones, mags are the problem with some of them, but he is a good fellow to deal with.
Sorry for the long post, I don't shoot one hand much any more, old age and the shakes setting in, but I just shoot against my self any way, and shoot way better when no one else is around.

There is a Medalist listed on EE right now, But is not all original. you are paying for a bunch of fancy wood, which I like.
I used them, but hear good things about the Buckmark's

I had the Super Citation with 2 barrels. Sold it when times were lean, and I am still regretting it. When I see it with it's new owner at the range, I wanna cry. But no way he'll let it go for what I did.
 
My first 22 target pistol was a Supermatic Trophy 107 Military. Served well for many years. Sold it about two years ago to a friend who was thinking of buying a S&W Victory. I retired it about 10 years ago for a Izh35m.

Izh35m was a very good accurate pistol with good ergonomics, but my slide developed preening around the rim depression which caused occasional doubling, which was not good for match shooting scores
Looked for a replacement slide for years until I finally replaced it this year. Had to readjust the sear setting for the replacement slide and now shoots great and is reliable.

A Pardini SP New is what replaced it as my main gun. No complaints on that one.

Was looking for for .32 target gun and ended up with a old used Walther GSP for under a grand.
I can now choose between the GSP, in .32SWL , S&W M52 38 Spl or Sig210 for the center fire competition.

Sounds like a spring problem, I have seen Hi Standards run into this , Hi Vol ammo in too light springs, not that you would do that. I have a Hi Standard 107 citation with a huge amount of ammo though it ( not by me) that had a lot of peening on the barrel face, . Also people dry firing 22 can do this, not that hard to clean up, with a reamer, but can be done by hand.
I envy the 210, never had one, like a d.s., I have let people talk me out of the S-W 51 and 52, , I have always liked the way the Russians build guns, but just go back to Hi Standards as I have collected them for years. 103 Olympic rapid fire, but that is a different game . I don't shoot formal competition .
 
It was the Izh35m that develop the preening problem. I cleaned them up multiple times with what I could but it has a very long slide and long reamers tend to be expensive and hard to find.

Tradex has a couple of Medalists for a reasonable price. I have a Medalist, a Supermatic Citation and a Buckmark. They all work well but I am looking for a High Standard Trophy or a Victor next...
 
I just picked up a as new in the box Victor with all the original paper work from a fellow here.
One of my customers just phoned me looking for mags for his victor he just bought with a 5 1/2 and 4 1/2 inch barrel, the 4 1/2 is quite rare as not many where sold.
having maybe 10, 12 victors over the years only one was a 4 1/2 inch.

Diopter, That IZH is a different cat, never worked on one of them, wonder if one could rig up some kind of a duffer?
I see what you mean about hard to work on the bolt face/ and chamber.
That slid price is not too bad if that was in Canada, but by the time you get in hand, price is almost x2

I did. On the old slide/bolt I used a silicone o-ring that I managed to stretch over the fixed barrel weight, left it up against the barrel weight. It helped make up for the lost material from the removed preening on the bolt face and cushion the impact against the barrel weight.



BTW, They are listing replacement slide for the HS 107 at $97.0xx USD, over $20.00 USD more.
