Need advice

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the sport and was curious as I have a Remington 597 VTR to start off with, what would be a good scope for 100 - 200 yards to put on this thing for when I'm at the range?

Find a fixed 4x on the EE. There's no need to overscope a rimfire like that. Most of your shooting will be well under 100 yards anyhow.

dont know your budget so .... if it was me and I didnt want to spend more than $200.00 - to pick an arbitrary figure ... based on my own (limited) experience I would keep an eye out for a used older Scopechief IV in the $150 range ... with no dents in the tube and clean/clear glass and a multi-plex reticle either fixed 4 power or a low powered variable.

Thanks for the replies. I'm shooting at a range so 100 yards is about what I want.
