Hi,

My name is Orbit.
Please give me some advise in the following matters:
1. A friend of mine want to give his Mauser 0.30cal to me but lost the docs. How can I legally get the rifle?
2. I have PAL and I have to admit, I dont have any gun at home. Can I buy in advance bullets for my rifle that is planning to buy? I know I can, but i need some professional advise.
Hoping for your patience for a new guy like me.

Get your friend to call the CFC, and initiate the transfer. Serial number should be enough, so long as gun, and all participants are registered. After he calls, you need to call and confirm the transfer, then they'll just mail you out some new reg papers. And yes, you can buy whatever ammo you want, regardless of what guns you actually own. Most people here have at least a few extra boxes of ammo in calibers they don't own, just in case they bump into someone who has something they want to try. Have fun :)

Thanks

Thank you to both of you...It really helps and will help...I will ask my friend to call the CFC for transfer and will get my very own vault for long rifles with ammo lockers...thank you again.

Carrying the Un-restricted FA in my car

Hi Jossee,

You have a good information there in CSSA. It makes me feel again my old sports back home (target shooting and competition). I got trainings from different sectors in lieu to gun safety and handling and I just want to re-verify that "it is okay to bring a unrestricted rifle in my car (fully cased & locked) eventhough I don't have ATT since it only requires in handguns or restricted FA." I am just new in Canada and I want to really sure about the laws especially firearms, and I found this website a bit informative especially with guys like you who are willing to share info and experience.

Thank you guys...please have patience on me..I really love target shooting and competition but I need to convince myself first that it is safe and will not violate any laws here in Toronto.
