I have some 125 grain bullets that I want to seat and crimp.

The bullets dont have a crimp groove.

My RCBS 38 Special die set has a roll crimp.

Can I use my 9 mm seating die to taper crimp the 38 special case?

Or should I get a 38 Spec taper crimp or maybe the Lee factory crimp die?

Thanks for any help.

Go with the Lee factory crimp. I'm not much of a Lee fan, but, I think they have a good product here.

My 2¢.

HOWDY ; Try the 9mm taper crimp , It is all you will need . I am geussing you are fireing them in a revolver. OR you can lightly roll crimp over the top driving band .Done both ,works the same for accuracy.

Thanks to all for the help

I will try the roll crimp first since my toolhead is set up for that.

I will chrono and check group size. I will be using 2.5 grains of Clays for a light Cowboy load.

Then I will try the 9mm taper crimp.

If the accuracy is bad with either then I will buy the Lee factory crimp.
