Looking for a bore guide for ar 15 hopefully from a site sponsor. Don't even mention Possum Hollow products. Appreciate any ideas on a bore guide that will cost less with shipping than a new red dot

Bore guides prevent wear caused by sloppy use of cleaning rods. It's possible to do a fair amount of damage cleaning a firearm. At the chamber and lands cleaning from the breech and at the crown on a rifle like the M1 Garand or M14 cleaning from the muzzle. While it may not be as big a deal on a military rifle a guy should have them for precision rifles. Another benefit is they keep solvents from running back into the action. Dewey makes very nice bore guides for most bolt action rifles. The Brownell's AR15 guide fits the upper like the bolt and seals the chamber with an o-ring.

Take a fired 223 case and drill out the primer pocket with a drill big enough to allow your cleaning rod to pass through.
