I had this LSH 08 pattern sabre I wanted mounted for my office. I found Guthrie Wood Products and sent them this design to mount the sabre and scabbard separately. They have done lots of sabres and pace sticks, but have all been one piece. I wanted this a bit different, and they were great to work with. I sent them measurements and a bit of a photoshoped pic that they already had, and they worked with that, to produce what is below.
This sabre dates from 1917, so in my imagination it was at Battle of Moreuil Wood with B squadron. No, the knot is not original to the sabre

I could think of a lot of politicians I would love to see "mounted";)
In anyh case, I have run out of wall space so mine is just leaning against the wall. along with some Royal Artillery swords

Very nice job, Koldt.

Lovely sabre, too.

For guys wanting CRITTERS mounted, I cannot recommend too highly the work done by Aasland Museum Taxidermy in Cranbrook. They are expensive but their work is the best; they have work in museums all over Europe and North America but the bulk of their work is for hunters. BTW, it's pronounced "OZland": Norwegian. The owner's name is actually Odd Aasland but there is nothing "odd" about him! Excellent workman in a difficult field dominated by mediocre amateurs.

I have seen enough of their work that I am convinced they could mount a POLITICIAN and make him look intelligent!

I got an old CF pace stick mounted as well, by the same company. Apparently they usually do them "open". I wanted it the way it is, and they accommodated.
