Just picked this up at a gun show. It's a transitional potbelly splice Finnish stock. But my question is, has it been sanded or is this the original al Finnish "no finish" style of stock. If someone has just sanded it, I will oil it to protect it and help with looks. But if consensus is its original, I will keep my hands off it!

Nice gun! I'm no pro but from my angle it looks like a mint stock that has never had a finish applied to it. It looks too clean and perfect to have been sanded. Totally your call on what to do with it. If it were my gun I would give it a few coats of lemon oil and call it a day. That's just my opinion though. Either way that's a beautiful piece.

Cheers

Ya, there is not a single stamp mark on it, so im not sure on this one. Someone either sanded it down and removed all marks, or there never were any marks in the first place. I think I will just leave it as is for now until I get a more solid answer.

I assumed it was put together in the 1960's sometime. Still had grease all over it and in the barrel. Should be a great shooter. I will for sure be leaving the stock as is.
