Martin; I don't have a Swift manual of any kind, but have worked a fair amount with the Scirocco bullets. In measuring the samples I have, I notice that they tend to be .0002" - .0004" larger in diameter than most of the regular jacketed offerings. Additionally, The jackets are pure soft Copper. This combination tends to raise pressures considerably. My policy in developing loads with these bullets is to drop back a full 10% from loads listed with Nosler Partitions/Accubonds, and work up carefully, using a Chronograph. With the 300 Win Mag & the 180 Scirocco, My max load with Reloder 22 was 71.5 grains. Velocity in a 26" barrel at that charge was 3095 avg for 10 shots. Going up another grain showed additional measurable case head expansion at the belt compared to the initial normal expansion of about .0004-.0005", which to me is ALWAYS a caution sign. I did not load any H1000 because the R22 load shot acceptably. My 30-06 would only accept loads 2 grains below the max used for the 180 Partition, this in using Norma MRP, a powder very close to RL 22. Hope this helps a bit. Regards, Eagleye.
