I am just getting into reloading and have a question. What is the easiest way to get the red residue off my polished brass. The residue is a little oily - red in color - from using Lyman Tuffnut. The brass looks great after the residue is wiped off. It would take hours to wipe them inside and out. I tried dishsoap and the kitchen sink with a little success. Any indoor ideas?

Well first off, stop using the rouge empregnated crap. Straight walnut or walnut with Dillon polish will work just fine with less mess.

My method is 2 hours in walnut with the Dillon polish, then 30 min in untreated corn cob. They come out as clean and shiny as you're likely going to get.

To clean after sizing, I put them in a gallon jug and a teaspoon of dishwashing detergent. Run hot water in, cap it and shake. Rinse a few times, dump it in a towel. Let them sit for a few days.
If I'm in a hurry, I blow them out with an airgun, then warm them with a heat gun.

Just throw an old hand towel on your bench and toss your freshly cleaned cases on it. After they are all there grab the four corners of the towel and make a sort of rough bag, lift it up and roll the brass around with your free hand. They will come out with most of the rouge powder gone. Just chuck the towel in the washing machine every now and then.
