A few years ago, I was given a DCRA 7.62 Long Branch No.4, complete with sterling magazine and .308 ejector modification. The rifle had a very nice bore, and all the components had the DCRA Serial on them including the bolt which is a No.5 hollow handle bolt.
However, the previous owner had cut about six inches off the barrel, cut the stock back (Although it found a home on my Hunting Enfield), and along the line the bolt knob was ground flat on one side.
I decided that since this was a serialized DCRA rifle, it was in need of restoration. I already had a LB Bolt to replace the ground down No.5 bolt (will keep bolt due to it being the Matching DCRA bolt), and a new barrel which itself was a takeoff form a DCRA rifle.
Problem is, I don't know too many Gunsmiths, and even fewer that would be able to do a No.4 barrel job properly. I had made contact with one in Ontario but I moved to Alberta before I could have the work done.
Anyone know of a gunsmith in Alberta preferably that can competently do a enfield barrel job?
Thanks.
