I am thinking of getting a new AR15 for for CQB.

Option#1:
Currently I have a Sig 516 complete lower that I am not using and it is on sale on EE.
I am thinking maybe I can just buy an upper with short barrel. The upper that I am thinking is Noveske with 12.5" barrel with NSR rail.
The cost $2300.

Option#2
Buy a complete CQB rifle. I am thinking DD MK18 with 10" barrel.
Cost $2300.

Either option I will end up with, I am going to top it off with Aimpoint T2 and Aimpoint magnifier.

Which option do you gun nutz think is the better option and why? Will the combination of Sig 516 lower and A Noveske upper will be a lighter and better overall CQB rifle compare to a complete DD MK18 rifle?

I only limit my option to these two right now

You would be a winner with either, but I would pick the DD. They don't use any questionable parts. I have never had any issues with my DDs. I would trust my life to one. I am not too fond of Sig ARs, so that's the only reason I would lean toward option 2.

Although Noveske makes great barrels, I don't think that the barrel will honestly make a difference at CQB distances or shooting styles. DD also makes top notch barrels though, so that is a non issue.

In all honesty, I shoots cqb best with my 10.5" Norinco (blasphemy!!!). Once I hit 100+ meters, I grab my DD with ACOG

DD is nice stuff. Noveske is too, but man... they sure do charge for it.

There's also going to be some SAS overrun 10.5" CC IUR uppers coming on the market very soon.

uhhh

is a sig 516 lower even compatable with a milspec upper?

I thought they were slightly different is a way I cant remember but I think I read that a while back

Sources for this pretty please?

Also to the OP, DD MK18 is a world beater get it and be done with it.

What's the good price for MK18 these days? How about MK18 vs KAC? Best bang for buck?

Hard to say purely bang for buck. It depends how important each feature is to you. The KAC comes with $400 iron sights, an awesome trigger, fully ambi lower/upper and a SOPMOD stock. Plus it has some extra changes to the bolt lugs and a few other features that increase the AR-15 reliability over long term use.

Most of things I would personally want to change on the DD MK18. Especially since I'm left handed. So the KAC ends up being a similar price.

Overall the KAC is a better rifle but it depends if all these features are worth the extra $1000 bucks (after purchasing BUIS for the MK18)
