Hi everyone,
I had a chance to shoot a sig p226 and a glock gen4 in 9mm and i am a little confused as to what i would like to buy as my handgun.
The p226 had a longer barrel as i was told (i dont know if it is longer than glock or a modified longer barrel than usual). I was very sure i wanted to purchase a glock until i fired the p226. It was much smoother than the snappy glock and stayed on target better due to less muzzle flip. Also i liked the idea of the double action because it seemed easier to fire than letting go completely for the glock. But the glock seemed lighter and simple to shoot with no decocker. I find the p226 decocker a little strangely placed and uncomfortable. On the other hand, my accuracy with the glock seems better because I only fired two shots with the sig on a perforated paper so i didnt get a good look but they seemed to go pretty close on target so now i dont know whats good.
I also had a chance to examine but not fire the USP which i found very comfortable and i loved the position and operation of the safety on it and i like the idea of a safety on firearms. But i have not fired 45 rounds yet so i dont know how it compares to 9mm. Also, i dont know how big the muzzle flip is on the USP compared to the low one on the p226. I like the idea of the sights returning quickly back down range. Also i know i prefer double action to single action.
Which firearm should i pick and why? And how better is the navy version of the p226 than other versions.
Thanks in advance.
