hi, I just bought a mod 19-3 2.5 in. dob 1975 nib, paid $450 for it,do I shoot it or not? will it loose value if I do,please give advice.klind45.

Be thankfull that you can own and shoot it. Shooting is more fun than lookin'.

Might as well get some enjoyment out of it while you can... eventually all the prohibs will wind up in the smelter unless something changes drastically.

On another note, I've never had any interest in guns that can only be safe queens or they lose their collector value. The fun in collecting is being able to pull the trigger once in a while.

shoot it. it's not a rare model, and if you take care of it, you really don't do much damage other then not being able to call it NIB...which in this case would probably only change the value 50-75$ at most

Shoot it, because it sure would suck for a shiny unfired gun to go to the smelter - someone should get the joy of using it before it ends up scrapped.

As the rest say, shoot it. How much less will it be worth? It is a prohib that is why you got it as cheap as you did. It won't be that many more years and you won't be able to sell it anyways unless you do a barrel change.
