Hi everyone, I'm new to the sport and would love some help!

I'm looking for advice in buying a new Tactical shotgun, I really like the looks but want some practicallity out of it ( grouse, clay's ).......
I really wanted the Benelli SuperNova TAC, (http://www.benelliusa.com/shotguns/benelli_supernova_tactical.php)
But with a 18.5'' barrel and a fixed cylinder choke i've heared i wouldn't be able to hit a clay or shoot (and be able to eat) a bird/partridge/grouse........ or could I with a different barrel (if they even sell them) or the right shot with a tight pattern? I really love the features of this gun!
If not, I'm also looking at the following: !any help one these would be great! Are the weatherby shotguns any good??
MODEL 870™ EXPRESS® TACTICAL : http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/tactical/shotguns/model-870-express-tactical-a-tacs-camo.aspx
Weatherby PA-459TR :

MOSSBERG 500 or 535 TACTICAL :theres a couple....

P.S. are those Dominion Arms Grizzly Mag fed Tacticals any good??

I got- Remingtons/ Mossbergs/ Dominion Arms tac shottys. First decide if you want semi auto or pump and go from there. 18.5 bbl is not an issue if youre running it with a decent choke. I group very well even with the Dominion Cougar since I run it with Remington mod. choke. Anyways, if I can push you in any direction Id say go with a semi auto- and theres lots of affordable ones out there also.

Thanx. Colt

Hm this is why Ive got 2 shotguns: Benelli SNT 18.5" and Stevens 67E 30" full choke. Going with the Benelli will be the toughest and most expensive route if you plan on having chokes. The chrome lined bores cannot be threaded and the wall thickness is a little too light. Spare barrels for Benelli's are hard to find and cost almost as much as the shotgun. With Federal top gun 7.5 shot I can take grouse reliably to about 25 yds, after that I'm not comfortable with the pattern. Trying different loads you'll probably find one that patterns even better. Ive watched an experienced trap shooter shoot handicap with an 18.5" Mossberg Mariner with decent results (more of an exhibition joke, but he was breakin clays) so if your trap shooting is simply casual and not to serious, it will work. Grabbing an old pump or break action with a field barrel will give you a dedicated trap/field gun and leave the tactical for range fun/ninja missions :ninja: If you can live without the Benelli, Remington and Mossberg offer barrel combos where you can get a field and security barrel with your shotgun for less than the cost of buying the gun and a spare barrel. There are other configurations too. But I cant live without my Benelli so I bought the Stevens :D
