need help cleaning cosmo

Cosmoline is just thick petroleum jelly. Comes off with any degreaser. Varsol is cheap and it works. Field strip your rifle and drop the whole thing in a tub of varsol and leave it there for 24 hours. Wipe off the cosmoline with a rag, oil the steel and BLO(Boiled Linseed Oil) the stock.

there wasnt much cosmo on my CZ858, all i did was wipe it with an old rag , took it to the range shot a few rounds and then regular cleaning .

Best I have found is "Break Free" Powder Blast. Its in an aerosol can so you can blast parts with pressure, and it does not leave a white residue like some cleaners do. The smell is not to bad either. It leaves parts nice and clean ready for lubrication.
